What are the benefits of learning another language or improving your communication skills in your mother-tongue?

Learning another language will open new doors for you and your child personally, professionally and socially.

It can provide new opportunities and perspectives that might never have been encountered otherwise. Research has shown that remaining monolingual does not allow for a child’s full educational development, may restrict their communication and thinking abilities and often does not give them the tools to fully appreciate and understand the world they live in.

Developing the ability to express yourself clearly and confidently will allow you to maximise your full potential, and show others your real value.

Why Cambridge English examinations?

Since 1913 Cambridge English has been providing the highest quality English language exams in the world.  Cambridge English is part of Cambridge Assessment, a not-for-profit department of the University of Cambridge, an institution with an international reputation for excellence in research and teaching.

More than 3 million candidates take the Cambridge exams every year.  There are over 2,500 centres in over 130 countries.  These examinations are recognised globally by over 11,000 institutions.

All exams cover the four skills – listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Why LAMDA examinations in English-communication?

The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) is one of the oldest drama schools in the United Kingdom.  Founded in 1861, it has provided theatre and the world of film and television with generation upon generation of first-class actors.

LAMDA began offering speech examinations to the public in the 1880s.  LAMDA examinations are designed to equip learners, whatever their age or aspirations, with a range of skills that will serve them throughout life. This was fundamental in our decision to become a private examination centre for the LAMDA communication examinations.

We believe that from day one you need to be on your feet and using the target language.  We don’t want you to learn a language and lack the confidence to use it.  Likewise, if English is your mother-tongue, we want you to build your confidence to speak out in public and take control of your destiny. We offer examinations in Using Spoken English and Speaking in Public.

LAMDA examinations also qualify students for UCAS points for university entry.
